Student Instructional Day: 8:55 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.

The Richer Elementary School is located on the west side of Marlborough, near the Northborough line.

It is a comprehensive, child-centered kindergarten through grade 5 school, enrolling approximately 590 students (January 2024).

Instruction is focused around standards-based core curriculum aligned to state frameworks, including balanced literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.

We promote intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and aesthetic growth for all.

Our math and English Language Arts curriculum continues to be supported by the Into Reading, Fundations, and GoMath programs. These research-based programs are designed to explicitly address Common Core standards, as they focus on developing the skills necessary for students to become college and career ready.

Richer School continues to provide a full array of therapies and special education services, including specific academic services, speech, and occupational and physical therapy. Services also include modified learning experiences for students in our Adaptive Resource Room.

Art, music, health/wellness/physical education, engineering and technology experiences are also provided to all students to enrich student learning.

The Marlborough Public Schools District has made it a priority to utilize technology to enhance classroom learning. Our school is equipped with Chromebooks for students in grades 2, 3, 4 and 5 and iPads for students in grades K-1. All classrooms provide Internet access and Smart Board/Eno Board technology is available.

At Richer School, family involvement is valued as crucial to the success of the school and the learning of each child. Open communication between families and school is encouraged in a variety of ways. Our doors are always open to our families, and we appreciate the continued support on the home front.

Full-day kindergarten is available.

We have an active PTO which works together with teachers and staff to provide exciting and educational extras that are not provided for in the school budget.

Students have the use of a large playing field and a state- of-the-art playground.

We have a highly involved school council responsible for updating our School Improvement Plan.

We offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention.
