The Marlborough School Committee, chaired by the Mayor, serves primarily as a legislative body for the Marlborough Public Schools. Its main responsibilities include establishing and monitoring the annual operating budget, hiring, managing and evaluating the Superintendent and setting and reviewing district policies and practices to support student achievement.

The Marlborough School Committee typically holds regular in-person meetings at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except on holidays and during school vacation weeks. These meetings usually take place in the School Committee Room located at 17 Washington St.

Public attendance at these meetings is generally permitted, and they may also be broadcast live on the WMCT-TV website and on Comcast Channel 8 and Verizon/FIOS Channel 34.
